Middletown Unified School District is seeking a talented and experienced Chief Business Official (CBO) or Director of Fiscal Services, depending on the selected candidate’s education and experience. About the Position

The successful candidate will oversee the district’s fiscal operations, including budget development and monitoring, accounting, payroll, purchasing, and related business services. This position serves as a key member of the district’s leadership team, working collaboratively with site and department leaders to ensure resources are effectively managed to meet district goals.
Depending on qualifications, the position will be filled as either:

• Chief Business Official (CBO)
  Responsible for overall business services operations and serves as a cabinet-level administrator.
• Director of Fiscal Services
  Responsible for directing and supervising fiscal operations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience:
  • For CBO consideration: Minimum of five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in school district finance, including at least two (2) years in a leadership role.
  • For Director of Fiscal Services consideration: Minimum of three (3) years of experience in school business services, accounting, or budgeting.
• Knowledge of: School district budgeting, state and federal financial reporting, and California education finance laws and regulations.
